(Summary description)On April 22, 2025, the 4th National Welding Flux Technology Seminar was successfully held in Zhengzhou. The event was sponsored by the Sub-Technical Committee for Welding Materials of the National Technical Committee for Welding and Allied Processes, and the Welding Material Application Special Committee of the China Workers’ Welding Technology Association. It was jointly undertaken by Harbin Welding Institute Co., Ltd. of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group, National Quality Inspection and Testing Center for Welding Materials, Zhengzhou Phoenix New Material Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhonghan Heli (Zhengzhou) New Material Co., Ltd. Nearly a hundred top experts and industry elites from China’s welding sector gathered in Zhengzhou to discuss technological innovation and future prospects for the domestic welding industry in the new era.
Huang Wei, Deputy District Chief of the People’s Government of Shangjie District, Zhengzhou, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Wang Yujie, Director of the Administrative Committee of Shangjie District Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone of Zhengzhou, also participated in the meeting.
The conference report session was presided over by Guo Xiao, Secretary-General of the Sub-Technical Committee for Welding Materials of the National Technical Committee for Welding and Allied Processes.
Subsequently, heated technical exchanges and professional discussions were carried out under the theme of Whole Industrial Chain of Welding Flux — Collaborative Innovation of Industry-University-Research-Application. Participants spoke freely and shared their views on the development, application and technological innovation of key sectors.
In his speech, Chairman Zhang Hongwei noted that as a private enterprise with nearly 30-year-long expertise in the R&D, production and promotion of submerged-arc welding flux, Phoenix Welding Materials adheres to the product philosophy of Endless Innovation, Flaw-Free Products. Finally, Yang Yuting, Chairman of the Sub-Technical Committee for Welding Materials of the National Technical Committee for Welding and Allied Processes, delivered the concluding remarks. He expressed sincere gratitude to Phoenix Welding Materials for undertaking the seminar and providing high-quality supporting conditions. He pointed out that although welding flux accounts for a small proportion in the welding field, it bears equal importance to other welding-related elements. Speakers ranging from association leaders, experts and scholars, to welding-flux manufacturers and end-users generously shared practical experience, reached broader industry consensus, clarified multi-party demands, and strengthened cooperation and exchanges. Such efforts inject new-quality productive forces into the intelligent, green and industrialized development of the welding-flux sector, and facilitate the sound and sustainable growth of the whole welding industry.
